Volunteer Opportunities

We are seeking the services of a lawyer and a professional accountant on a pro bono basis.

The Weston Heritage Conservation District is an incorporated, non-profit organization created by City of Toronto bylaw 549-2004 to conduct a study of Weston Village to determine if it qualifies for designation as a heritage conservation district under the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1900, CHAPTER O.18. We are funded solely through the generosity of individual donors. As a consequence, our financial resources are extremely limited.

From time to time, the Weston Heritage Conservation District will require legal advice related to:

  • The implementation of the Weston Village Phase 2 Heritage Conservation District Study
  • The designation of the Phase 2 map area as a Heritage Conservation District under the Ontario Heritage Act
  • Agreements and contracts that we propose to enter into
  • Our non-profit status
  • Matters involving our corporate charter and our standing under the Ontario Business Corporations Act
  • Other legal matters

In addition, we need the services of a professional accountant to:

  • Prepare unaudited annual financial statements
  • Prepare federal and provincial corporate income tax returns

If you would be willing to consider volunteering your time for this purpose, please contact us at info@heritageweston.com or by telephoning 416-241-9322 for additional information.

Thank you for your kind attention in this matter.
